Tātou Kāinga - ManaRewa Group Exhibition

Nathan Homestead
70 Hill Road, Manurewa, Auckland

16 March - 11 May 2019

ManaRewa is a local artist collective, based in Manurewa. They formed in 2016 with the aim of mentoring Pacific artists; this is their fourth exhibition at Nathan Homestead.

For Tātou Kāinga the group showcases photographic work by young people. The focus of the exhibition is on building a sense of community which supports the next generation of young artists. The project makes the gallery into a home and the Nathan Homestead becomes ‘our place’ - Tātou Kāinga.

Artists Raymond Sagapolutele and Emily Mafileo mentored the young photographers, and Raymond was interviewed about the project by Brian Crump on RNZ.

Raymond has posted some installation photos on his facebook page.
