For this body of work, Chatham experiments in creating abstract compositions with paint and water. Patterns are formed by precise measurement of the materials then photographed with a long exposure to create slow natural movement, resembling microscopic images and vast aerial landscapes. The work is realised in a controlled studio environment, allowing for a range of accurate lighting and exposure combinations to be captured with an emphasis on controlling the formations.

The precise and technical nature of Chathams work in both commercial and artistic projects has resulted in him being the youngest person to be included in the world renowned Lürzer's Archive top 200 photographers worldwide
