Two new photobooks from PhotoForum Publications

Two new photobooks from PhotoForum Publications

Luca Franco Macioce’s The Bridge and David Cook’s Jellicoe & Bledisloe are the latest books to be made available through the PhotoForum publications programme (published as PhotoForum #95 and #96 respectively). Jellicoe & Bledisloe is published by RIM Books with support from PhotoForum, and The Bridge is published as the result of the most recent PhotoForum Open Call (Aug. 2021).

Both books address issues of place, community and home. Cook’s book draws upon his practice that spans over 25 years and takes an historical view of the streets of suburban Hamilton where he lived in the 1990s, while Macioce’s images are rooted in the current changes in the area defined by the spatial tripartite of Māngere, Māngere Bridge and Ihumātao. Both books offer an intimate meditation on the communities close to each photographer. Taken together they also offer a wider view on the impact of gentrification and the conditions that sit within the current housing crisis.

Both books are for sale and can be purchased for $50 each from the PhotoForum website or if you are a PhotoForum member you will receive them as part of the 2021-2022 membership subscription.

PhotoForum Memberships are: $85.00 Standard Membership (NZ); $65.00 Concession (NZ Student or unwaged); $95.00 Australia; $115.00 International)
