PhotoForum Photobook Open Call
Open call for photobook proposals
25 October - 30 November 2022
PhotoForum welcomes photobook submissions from NZ-based photographers. PhotoForum #98 and #99 will be selected from these submissions and the likely publication timeframe will be mid-2023. We are looking for well-developed photographic projects or a series of work that could be developed as a smaller publication/zine.
We recognize the importance of providing a platform for publication to photographers who may not have access to more traditional forms of book publication.
We are guided by the following criteria:
1. Do we love the book?
2. Is the proposed project cohesive and relatively resolved in its scope?
3. Is the project consistent with our vision to continue a strong legacy of significant photographic publications in Aotearoa?
Email a pdf, a written summary of up to 300 words about your project and a short artist bio to photoforumnz@gmail.com by 30 November 2022. Please write "Open Call" in the subject line of your email. We look forward to your photobook/zine proposals!
We need your help to continue providing a year-round programme of online reviews, interviews, portfolios, videos and listings that is free for everyone to access. We’d also like to dream bigger with the services we offer to photographers and the visual arts.
