Gary Blackman (1929 - 2022)

We are saddened to learn of the recent passing of Gary Blackman.

Photographer, painter, teacher, writer, and long-time member of PhotoForum, Gary Blackman contributed work to many PhotoForum exhibitions and publications over the years, including The Active Eye (1975); Witness to Change: Life in New Zealand - Photographs 1940–1965 (1985); up:date// The Active Eye (2000); 14 New Zealand Photographers (2008); PhotoForum at 40: Counterculture, Clusters, and Debate in New Zealand (2014), and most recently the PhotoForum Members’ Show of 2018.
