Human Landscapes and Banks of the Arrow
Human Landscapes and Banks of the Arrow
Julian Ward
37 Courtenay Place, Wellington
21 July - 18 August 2018
Opening event 11am, Saturday 21 July
"Two subjects I enjoy in photography are the mess of life on the streets, and the tangle of trees in the bush. I like the way they are both so similar and stark even though one is moving uncontrollably, and the other stationary.
I also enjoy how people blend into landscape, almost vanish. And, the way the landscape is modified by people while remaining mysterious.
I loosely call these photographs Human Landscapes. For this exhibition I have blended both subjects together, since each inspires the other". (From gallery website).
